[suggestion] 7th Umbral Era

So you know how they are going to redesign Eorzea and most likely use the umbral era as an explanation?

I think it would be awesome if they did something a little like Rift and make the first few levels a tutorial in a completely different newbie area, which would be the old Eorzea and then at the end once completing something(fight?) they could be sent to the new Eorzea which is under the 7th Umbral era. It can work and would make sense if they tie it together with the echo, like the echo sent you to the past to witness the coming of the 7th umbral era. That way we can get the new redesigned Eorzea but still have the old one.

Yeah, the game does need a low level tutorial.

Keeping both maps would be nuts.

Maybe instead of bringing new players to it, use the map as a sort of "going back in time" system later on down the road.

How is upcoming 7th Umbral Era past? I think you mean 6th Umbral Era. Also Echo only allows you to see into person's past. You can only experience the past but you cannot change it.

Yea rift was a fail game and a wow clone but that intro part of rift was original and ok...I'm not saying to copy and past I'm saying something to that effect and feel would be nice.

After we hit the 7th umbral era, the 6th becomes the past. (or 8th and 7th)

Use the 6th era map as the "past"

This could happen after the map revamp so that players could go "back" and experience things as they are "now"

I know I ment the games starts with the 7th era and the echo that's you back to right before it happened and you only play through it so thar new players can experience the old Eorzea like we are now not to change the future.

It sounds exactly like Pre-Searing Ascalon in Guild Wars to me. An area in which you start off in the Prophecies campaign. A newbie area to learn how to play the game, in which as soon as you get far enough and leave you can never return to.

It would be good to make it possible so that you can return to how the world is now though. Something like the past in XI would be good.

/sigh sorry guys it was original to me I've only played xi, wow, rift, and xiv :/

I'm just trying to give suggestions to keep the old maps too. Past content like xi is cool too...but we don't want any clones right /sarcasm
