I'm not even talking about T9, just T6.

I only brought up T9 because it's an extreme example but the same thing can apply to T7 to a lesser degree.

T6 has PuG's slide by it every now and then but it will only get you so far. You need like minded players learning the fights relative to yourself to progress and that will most likely never happen without forming a static in one way or another. At least, until these fights get nerfed into the ground from where they are now.

    Always remember the Silver Rule:
"Treat others as they treat you!" ...or something like that.

sad but true in FFXIV , either you lucky to have enough good friends , or you have to pay gil to clear content , party finder makes you wait just to experience endless wipes and rage quits after waiting a couple of hours to even start

I love how this blanket statement gets thrown around these types of threads all the time. Im calling BS on it. Yes.. here and there you will get people that leave but 9/10 times i put a learning party in the DF, 5/8 people will stick it out till completion. Maybe things are different on Phoenix but I'm pretty sure that most of the time people expect that because dungeons and HM trials are so easy that EXs and coil will only be slightly harder. They aren't. They are much harder.

again... something I don't entirely believe in...

Turn 4, I subbed in as a Tank and one shot it (when it was still relevant). Turn 5, plugged away in DF (not PF) and learned it and got it done with a completely random group of strangers, with about 12 minutes left on the timer. This PUGs can't do things like my static can attitude permeates the game and in my experience (read: not a rule by any stretch of the imagination), and defeats people before they even really try.

I'm one of those filthy casuals. Took me forever to get into Turn 1 - 5 because of how things were with being someone who can't dedicate hours each night to do one thing for hours. The lock outs really hurt, hinders the few people I now who would gladly help and teach me with a party to clear or farm but can't because they need the items. I know "this game isn't for you then" ..nope it's for me, just not that part of the game. Rest..I'm fine with.

But, I understand that this is for hardcore or more dedicated people who have lots of time and enjoy playing one or two jobs. There's so much casual content out there..I don't mind stepping back a bit and let the hardcore guys get their fill in.

Though it does make it difficult to progress when the mechanics are one shots mixed with a learning party or a party with someone who has ilv110 gear but still can't..dodge...dive bombs. The only thing a casual can hope for is that the progression of the rest of the casuals meets your standards. That over time majority of people learn how to do the fights properly so it can be taken on a few times with a duty finder or party finder.

    Simple answer.

Raid content isn't for casual players.

Though in FFXIV they give raid quality loot out to solo content so /shrug

... Oh wow. So, the reason you do coil is because of the drops?

OK, you don't *ENJOY* raiding. Some of us do, however.

Only thing keeping more casual players from getting into raiding is the design of MMO progression these days. EVERY SINGLE TIER group gear makes older raid content irrelevant.

If group gear was ilvl 80 groups would still be forming to progress through 1-5 because it would be worth while to do. Instead if your not doing turn 10 raiding is 100% pointless.

Take it up with the people who champion content designed like this if you want to get into raiding.

    o.o

and thats why I decided to do never do any coils. since I heared about it. (A year ago)
You`ll just getting frustrated and youre wasting time.
Im an easy going good gamer, but I -dont- want to turn into a hardcore gamer/Nerd, what coils and those super hard primals runs need. In my opinion.

Do it like me: just Ignore!
There`s plenty of other stuff to do, that is worth the time and effort. o_o
