Tiny, heh. No one can see the size of the arena, or do the side by side comparison. The assumption is real.

...Bahamut was never "huge", BTW. I fail to see where this is coming from. This seems about right in comparison to character models in other FF games. (No. No one cares about XI. He was the right size in the majority of the FF series, your special snowflake of a game is wrong.)

He was just a big dragon thing. This isn't Alexander or something.

There's also the thing about this being called Bahamut Prime. Obviously must be a story-related thing there.

As for being disappointed, you all knew we weren't going to get a full-scale Bahamut fight, so there's not even any reason to be disappointed. Sure beats having a certain old dude as final boss for Coil.

Some of you guys have some seriously out of whack expectations for what was realistic and especially considering they already said a large scale battle like this was not going to happen as recently as the fan festival.

Only in FFXIV can you be considered tiny if you're a dragon 10x the size of the largest player in a party, with a wing span covering nearly half the arena.

    bahamut in XI

meanwhile bahamut in xiv is almost the size of a small city

have fun downing that with 24 people. you could take said people, and almost everyone in toll and ride it with them with room to spare

As much as I hate the lore excuse (because it lets SE be lazy), you forget that it'd be:

24 "Warrior of the Light", meaning they could take down bahamut quite easily, since they take down primals that not even a nation's army can dent.

if there is a lore explanation, it's not lazy. your assuming its lazy because we aren't fighting city-dragon. there is a reason why he's like this. we succeeded at least. we stopped him from being completely rebuilt. that was the entire point of the coil expedition after coil 1: stop bahamut from regenerating.

true, but anything like that would also be somewhat insulting...like a zergfest ala XI.

or it would just be fighting a single part of his body like WoW did with deathwing...

the echo pretty much just gives us resistance from primal influence, and a nice boost in strength under certain conditions along with the occasional headache. otherwise its just hydaelyn influencing the world in ways that benefit us...but we haven't heard her since 2.0, have we?

Don't forget everyone...according to the lore the primals power level matches what energy they have been fed (crystals, etc).
Also, if I remember correctly, the primals are just a manifestation of energy into physical form- when they die they go back to the aether and can come back. It is entirely possible bahamut breaks out of the coil at the end, but with very little energy compared to the opening video...thus he can only maintain the small size. The size is (as i understand it) incredibly variable.

Also do not forget that we have already seen primals manifest body doubles (ifrit and to a lesser extent garuda)

The fact we fought in its hand in T5 probably misguided everyone...
But sure, we will fight Bahamut-egi, to save Eorzea, again !

People kept hoping that they could have 24 people fighting Bahamut. Not only that would be a near mindless zerg rush, but imagine trying to get THREE static groups together?
