Also for guide P2 i tested out control quite a bit, and found it to be the primary stat for crafting even ranked items or items well over your current rank. It seems at least as far as all the tests i ran displayed a increase in "ease of completion" so your syntheses will go smoother and faster because of it.

I haven't messed around too much with culinarian specifically Pop Dai, but i haven't seen much difference in how different DOH classes react to control stacking. I usually run with a even set of craft/mag craft vs control and works very well for me, and i also pop control food for HQ attempts.
