They're pretty neat, but do you think they would work in FFXIV? Why or why not?

they said they be coming up with a type of skillchain system even allow you to solo skillchain but if it like ffxi or something new who knows only time would tell.

Rentahamster has a very indepth post about this very topic: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...t=Rentahamster
The only problem I see is that TP generation in FFXIV is several magnitudes faster than in FFXI. In FFXI it generally takes at least 30 seconds to gain enough TP for a WS, while in FFXIV you just pop Invigorate, then do a couple TP builders and you have enough to spam three TP moves back to back, soon followed by a fourth.
One option would be to have only certain abilities be chainable (perhaps only 2k+ TP abilities?), but I'm not sure how to implement it without making everything seem unnecessarily convoluted.
Something definitely has to be done, though. The BR system has been improved since launch but it is fundamentally flawed in its design and has to go. Even if we ignore its poor functionality, it is also much less exciting than the skillchain system of FFXI.
BR is pretty solid, but I think the issue is that it's automated and you can't take action while BR is queuing up. This makes it feel boring because the player is not really in control, they're just waiting for their turn to pick an action to stack up until someone executes the BR. I would rather see a modification to this system than a replacement of it with Skillchains (as much as I loved those in FFXI).
