Inferior to what, exactly? The weapons you can basically only get by clearing through Final Coil? Plenty of people are going to be unable to avoid using i115 instead of i120 weapons for a while... By the time a significant number of people are running around with i120/i130/i135 weapons, we'll probably have i130 Relics...

I think there's something you're forgetting.

PLD is last to get the tomestone unless your group doesn't want to beat T13.

So your Nexus is pretty much the best thing you'll have until like 8 weeks of T11, 6 if you get priority over healers.

While T10/T11 can be cleared with i110 weapons and the HA weapons, having a Nexus maximizes secondary stats and makes 1% wipes into clears. While I don't think they're necessary and have never bothered with the Relic quest past Zenith, they're valuable for the casual player who hasn't beaten t9 and they're also valuable for the bleeding edge players who want to do as much DPS/HPS as possible to clear things quicker and get upgrades faster.

I agree that there should've been a i120 step for 2.4, at first I thought this would disincentivize players from getting the i120 weapon from T11, but since that weapon can be upgraded then it still remains more valuable than the upgraded Relic, and people who don't have weapon priority will still have a more powerful weapon than the HA i115 one. This does bring up a concern, however, and that is that raiders then become required to do their Relic quest, which is meant to be for casual players to get strong weapons without the work of raiding. It's sort of conflicting, but while bringing it up to i120 would've probably been fine, i115 is also fine. They'll likely bring it up to i130-135 in 2.5/2.55 so continuing the chain will still result in having the BiS weapon for that patch and then progression into the expansion. Though that really depends on what happens with ilvls in the expansion and how available the better weapons will be...

Aaaaaaanyway, personally never bothering with the Relic chain as its always seemed pointless to me. But that doesn't necessarily mean it isn't important to others.
