I am not understanding the problem:

Relic= upgradable weapon, you work on at a casual pace (solo) that grows with you over time. It was (at least for now) not intended to be 'BiS' but rather, a good steady-eddie weapon that you could rely upon to fill in the gaps while in-between weapons and/or if the RNGeus was bad to you for a couple months.
