And I'd disagree that coil is pretty damn important to the story line, especially since it ties up the bridge between 1.0 and 2.0.
And I've never heard of people feeding truffles to pigs, only using them to sniff out and dig more. Blah... they're too expensive over here.

you miss my point, what i'm saying it's not everything must be tie to coil! not everything must be resumed by coil! actually the main flaws of FF14 it's the way the end game is create. we do have only one end game content...Raid. mmorpg are not a Massively Multiplayer Online Raiding Playing Game. it's more than this, you must get content outside raid that are difficult and that will satisfy different type of player looking for hard content. (not this trouble is born with WoW model)

don't forget that some people simply don't like raid (especially because FF14 raiding is not real raiding but more rope jumping and the community make it hard for new player to simply join the veteran, but that another debat), and still play this game, do that means they don't deserve a reward for them dedication to complete the relic upgrade? do that means only your play style is the one everybody must follow? no, not everything must be tie to raiding when it come to end game.

you like raiding, is your right, but i feel it's insulting, and i don't think it was your goal, to say only raid is hard content and only this must be rewarding.

exept that never any upgrade will be the best and often we will get an upgrade that get at the same level than raiding... 1 month before they add a new tier that make this relic be less good. because weapon from the last Turn is i135 when relic is i115. indeed not everybody will get a i135 weapon in the new 3 month, but it's yoshida himself that did say that relic will never pass the raid ilevel... when it did become clearly more tedious than any other content for get the last step, with more step coming it will become extremely hard to see new player really invest time, energy and gils into this.

i'm scared to imagine when we will be able to make an i135 relic weapon, when we will look at the whole process i'm sure it will be insanely big...

Just stopping by to say that each of the i120-130 tome weapons look bloody lame compared to a nexus and vanity is all this game is about, right?

Just look at the magitek ironworks sword and then the curtana nexus, aesthetically laughable.

What? You do realize that it doesn't matter what weapon you have, when new content comes out, there will be a better one. On top of that, they'll just make a new relic quest and make it more powerful. I feel as if I've walked into an Apple Juice Factory, and you're complaining that the apples are being crushed.

There a huge difference between asking for the best weapon and asking for something that match the current content, plus, tell me where is that famous quest to upgrade my relic for new content? Maybe i just miss it.. /sigh

Make literally no sense to spend well over 200h to end up with nothing, sure let value 200h of wiping at T10 over other content. I am sure that model is helping everyone too.

Im pretty sure nextstep will come in 2.45 and it propably will match augmented ToP weapon(ilvl130)unless theres still more than one step after it(if i dont remember wrong there should be only 2 phases left according to that npc). So dont waste your ToP on weapons if you have Nexus atm.

I'll give you another view, as a starter here. I haven't unlock any raid contents but I got my zenith and still working up for Novus. Poetic token is coming very slow from duty finder and hunts. Unlike those who already topping everything and running raids now and then.

Relic is perfect while I am still finishing the scenario.

Yes, but time is a factor here, if they do it late as they keep doing, it wont even be needed anymore. People already clearing T10 with I110/115 weapon from T9 or old currency. (so will my group)

Dungon = 50 Soldery and 40 Poetics, you need 4,500 for the book, and 30,000 for Alex. Base on that path, you would end with 27,600 Poetic total (Enough to gear up 9 class of I120) + 1 weapon each. OR you can do the 4,500 for book, and just do 1 roulette per day for 75 day long, in the end you be ready for 3.0 with your I110 weapon. then you can start the light farming (2000x) for i115.

No matter how you look at it, is monstrously wrong.

Relic isn't raid content, Allagan is. You want something better? Raid. Least the weapon is comparable (even better in certain stages, like prior to 2.4) for nothing more then some grinding. It will get an update, it always does. You would think you know this by now...

Could say same for Raid, is nothing more than wiping until you win it. Is even less productive, plus it help no one in the community, in other hand, the Relic help new player with dungeon, give a reason for materia to even exist.

So ya, unless you are pride of grinding WIPE, raiding is not even a challenge. Also, why this game have to be so focused on COIL RAID only.. i mean... wow... FF11 would have died so quick if "Dynamis" was the ONLY cool thing to do in the game.

Shhhh, don't remind them that FFXI had things this game doesn't, like actual hard content. The final coil raiders need to feel special atm.
