Thank You for Ultros(Hildibrand Spoilers!)

The entire thing was a love letter of Final Fantasy 6 and the original translation and lines that made him famous. Thank you, team. I felt like it was in the 1990s all over again, as a little girl, with SNES controller in hand and playing the game that influenced what I liked as an adult today.

It was so much fun and my favorite Hildibrand chapter, and that fight was AWESOME. Thank you, thank you! And a huge thanks to the translators who worked hard on it into english! <3

Yeah, so nice to see that they stayed true to the original FF VI and not the bastardized version that was the I think Advance remake where they changed his to name to something like Orthos if I recall x.x It was awful. The cherry on top of course being they gave us FF VI's boss battle theme for the fight against him.

Actully the GBA version is more directly translated. So if anything the SNES version is the "bastardized version" because they changed the script and censored it. (Because a suicidal jump off a cliff totally "Perks you right up"...)

I don't know. Even with the original translation, they still showed that was suicide. Clearly suicide. They didn't use the word but I do remember Celes saying "I have nothing to live for." Dark themes, and one powerful message of keeping onto hope. I remember feeling very powerless as a kid.

Anywho, I kind of prefer the "bastardization" then the GBA one. Might just be nostalgia.

Same here for me and really, I guess it's a difference of opinion on which one you consider the bastardized version of the game, some would consider the original 3/6 as it, im sure (hope really) im not the only one who sees the GBA one as it despite being more true to the original translation. To me Ultros will always be Ultros and not Orthos and Atma Weapon will be Atma Weapon and not Ultima Weapon (also I would love to see an Atma Weapon fight in XIV with a remastered/updated version of his theme) *big dreams I know*
