Is having your class in this game as important as it is for me?

I've always been more of a caster, so any type of mage class, and I generally like to heal because it's a more important role so I feel more useful to the group. I don't really play mmo's outside of the Final Fantasy ones but I think that for me, it depends on the game.

I couldn't stand BLM in XI, was a chore for me just to get it up to 37 for subjob and then to have to turn around and get about 3 more levels on it when they first started increasing the level cap. :P But I picked it up in XIV just to get it to 15 to unlock SMN, and you can kinda see where that went.

I would just love it if they would add some kind of sword using dps class. either one-handed, two-handed (preferred), or dual wielding swords. I don't care what you call it; Rune Knight, Fencer, Samurai, Soldier, (insert class name here), lol. I love swords, they are just a traditional weapon, and while I do like my paladin a lot, sometimes I just want to play on a dps class, and none of the dps classes use swords. in short: more swords please!

Two handers 4 life. Pretty much any game that lets me pick a class I look for who has the 2 hander axe/swords/spears and try those first. I dont play too many mmos but I usually go for the 2 hander melee jobs first. If they can tank, even better. I've played wow several times on and off and I've tried every class except monk at least once (some not max level) but I've gone arms warrior like 5 times maybe more. Ragnarok Online I played 2 hander sword knights the most. War is also my first 50 in XIV 1.xx. Went to 1st coil as paladin cause I decided to try leveling from scratch at launch and took that to 50.

Only exception is XI where I jumped classes so much and can't pick between war/drg/sam/blu/dnc. Didn't really care about drk in xi (style wise) but it's going to be a tank in xiv so I'm gonna try it.
