uhh? mad about new content?
That's a new one...
I wouldn't say it was for nothing I mean you needed that gear in the 1st place to get where you are now right?
Your work in this game is going to be "fleeting." Vertical progression is always going to be there, and you're never going to "beat the game." New content will constantly be rolling out. The joy of playing this game can be found in obtaining high-level gear, yes. Tossing out a 2k HP Cure or HQing a high-level recipe feels great. But in six months, when everyone's tossing out 4k Cures, it's going to be pretty dated.
So here it is, the mantra of where the real gearing-up-joy is to be found in the game:
Congratulations on kicking ass in 2.3! You're going to be well ahead of the curve in the arms race in 2.4!The joy of gearing up is not in increasing your item level, but in the ratio of your item level to the current maximum item level in the game.
most expensive part are the required mc demi + ehcatl sealent
you can wear the forager set with all classes and each ilvl 60 forager piece has 3 materia save slots, which makes melding them very cheap and easy
if you desynth your current gear you'll probably obtain all materia which are needed for the new set
Don't rush to replace it. I have a fully maxed out miner and botanist with the "old" gear and there's still nothing I can't see. (double negative, I know) Need platinum? Ebony logs? Done. 638 GP, 420 perception, 428 gathering without food. There are probably people with more. I have no problem getting HQ on either of the new nodes. Will I probably need the new stuff in the future? Of course, but not today. So I gather the stuff to bring it to our crafting team who are working on the 4 star books so they can make the new gear. It's a cycle, but if you have a team in your who's working together, there's not any problems. I can't imagine the work if we each did this on our own.
Now the real question is... should I make a new character in Leviathan to hug Inflorescence?
This guy just made my day.
The good news is that it seems for us Disciples of the Land, we don't "need" the new stuff. It's a luxury.
For Crafters though who now need to be scrambling for every point in Control to start being able to reliably HQ the highest level recipes anew? Welp.
