    Unable to complete version update [30426][19900][740]

    I've tried about everything I can think of besides re-installing windows. I've re-downloaded and installed the game twice and I'm still getting the error.

    The problem started when about 24 hours ago the game crashed. Then last night when I tried to boot up the game I got an error (I Think a different one from this one but I don't remember what it was), but this is the error I'm getting now after I've uninstalled and then installed FFXIV again.

    Any ideas in how to fix this? Thanks!

    I just remembered the error I got before I tried to re-install FFXIV. I got a "Unsupported 16-Bit Application Error" when trying to start FFIXV.

    Also to clarify, both of these errors happen after I log in in the Launcher app and when i click on the "play" button.

    What program is being referenced for tripping the error (may need to load eventvwr.msc and check the logs).

    Sounds like possibly malware or something hooking into your browsers needs to be updated for compatibility (launcher is essentially MSIE stripped down, so you could be triggering a legacy BHO or something).
