Too Lazy To Move Your Hands - Control Setup

I see many people having issue with the keyboard controls~ So I thought I'd post this, cause...games always seem to have a lack of "intuitiveness" with controls to me.

There's a few things to consider with this.

    - Occasionally I'll use my mouse in some menus. But thats more of a "I feel like it" thing. It's handy for places like the market ward, where target closest NPC isn't going to be very useful...>.>

    - These seem intuitive to me. But I guess everyone would be different. I mean~ I have long fingers. So maybe all yall' "short-n-stubbies" might have some reach issues. But other than that I consider this very fast and fluid to play with. I can easily, actively manipulate my menus, movement, and camera without having to move my hands around; or having to have that derpderp my hands are too close feeling. It's fine when I'm typing text, but I don't like my hands resting that close for that long. D=

    - I had other things "to consider," but I started forgetting while typing this. D=

    - Sit and wait for the thoughts to come back.

    - I noted the Camera/Movement dyslexia on the picture, as well as the shift-tab doesn't work with the '0' key.

    - I think that's it. I'll look for peoples comments reply, if they spark something I forgot to mention. And I'll ignore all those, "You're controls are stupid....you're stupid....this is stupid." comments.

    -...
    -...
-Oh yeah...I kind of feel like people don't venture into their keyboard mapping options very often. You should do that. It's cool. Do it.

    - If you select a key-binding, you can hit delete and it'll go away. It won't bind to delete. <.<

-Don't gimmie' no **** because you already know how to work the mapping menu.

(Photobucket one looks kind of small and crappy, as well as hard to read.)

I roll this way (almost exactly) and I love it. I tried to mirror XI's control scheme, but the arrows being bound just screwed it for me. I miss being able to run+target+camera with one hand.

    On the num0 reverse target cycle: anytime I hit [Shift+num0] or [Shift+Tab] it stops me from running- it's infuriating (>"<;

[Edit] The big difference I have is F1-F7 are party members, & F8 is target NPC.

I flipped that simply because. Targetting NPC's usually a primary priority. So, it made sense to isolate those to the F1-4 area. and then I can layout the last 8 in however way I'd like. But I haven't played a mage-type character yet.

How did you remap F6? I tried to set F1-7 as PT members, but it keeps telling me F6 is bound to something already (yet it doesn't show up anywhere in the keyboard config, even under fixed keys).

Just want to bring some attention to your comment about shift+0 on the numpad.

It bugs me as well that this doesn't work in the game... I made a thread a few weeks ago but it's largely fallen by the wayside.

This is largely my set up as well... With shift+0 working and with reassignable arrow keys I'll be a happy man.
