I'll answer some while I drink my cup of tea but most of the info can be found on the patch notes so not gonna spend too long getting into too much info and wont answer them all.

Myths were replaced by soldiery and now that's been replaced by poetics though myth gear has become a dungeon loot drop but not the myth gear itself in the sense it drops gear type token which exchange for actual myth gear, soldiery and poetics both exchanged in mor dhona with poetics being highest tier gear. That highest tier gear can also get from top end raids. You can get the soldiery and poetics currencies from typical places like higher ranked hunts, raids, high end dungeons and trials etc. ilvl90 is myth gear still, ilvl100 is soldiery but can be upgraded to ilvl110 with things like oils or something if I recall correctly and soldiery is I think ilvl120 or ilvl135 (not sure which)...

Allied seals are from hunts, both daily hunts, weekly hunts and special hunts. Hunting lists for A+B ranks plus generic mob ones can be picked up from hunt masters in major cities and S rank ones are the likes of Behemoth, Odin etc which you don't get hunt list for them from NPC. Sands and Oil I think can be got now from trading allied seals for some logs item I think which can then be exchanged for oil etc on top of sands and oil still also being a raid drop. The logs item can also be obtained from hunts as a random drop but I think only from A and S rank.

Novus/Zodiac etc is unique weapon type for each class and is a hell of a long time consuming quest line but it is something fun to do if enjoy the challenge, the weapons are currently not as good as highest end raid or poetic weapons but SE keep bringing them up to par few months down the line after BiS raid and poetic type weapons have been out a while which is probably so those doing high end raids don't have their egos burst by the alternative weapons being on par with them immediately.

HM is easy to do in DF most of the time, EX is a different matter and is still best done with FC or statics. Savage coil is harder version of normal coil, that's all it is pretty much just like EX trials is harder version than HM trials.

- Tomestones are found in relatively the same quantities from all the same locations as always, but the lower tier is now Soldiery and the upper tier is Poetics. Dungeons that used to give myth will now give similar amounts of soldiery, for example.
- Alexandrite can be gotten once/day, and additional Alexandrite has a chance to drop on completion of any FATE while wielding Animus/Novus/Nexus. Finally, you can exchange Allied Seals for Alexandrite at your Grand Company.
- Allied Seals are a currency from Hunts: Hunts involve open-world boss-class monsters that can spawn in many different zones. You can examine the Hunt Billboard at your Grand Company for daily/weekly marks that provide seals, or participate with other players in locating A and S rank marks, which have longer spawn timers and provide Allied Seal rewards on every kill.
- Sands/Oils can drop in Second Coil and Syrcus Tower, and you can also exchange Allied Seals for Blood-spattered Mark Logs at your Grand Company. These Logs can then be exchanged (2 for an Oil, 3 for a Sands) to Aelina in Mor Dhona.
- Nexus upgrade involves using your Novus and running many many dungeons/raids/trials in order to generate 'Light' within it. Different duties provide different quantities of light, and every hour there will be a particular set of duties that give bonus lights for that hour. People collaborate on these boards/reddit/party finder/etc. to determine which duty has bonus lights at a given time; there will often be a Light farming party in Party Finder. The Nexus upgrade increases Novus from iLevel 110 to 115, with respective increases to weapon damage/primary/secondary stats.
- Each patch that provides higher iLvl will make doing Primals easier, but in general yes it's tougher to do them through Duty Finder rather than Party Finder.
- Savage Coil is an upgraded version of Second Coil wherein all the bosses are tuned to a MUCH higher difficulty. The normal rewards from Second Coil do not drop; the reward for completing each Turn is an achievement and a related title.
- Take the time to skim/read the 2.3, 2.35, 2.38, and of course 2.4 patch notes. It's a lot, I know, but it will really help you get a better grasp on what has changed that I didn't mention here.

ST also drops oil and sand used to upgrade ilvl100. They drop from the last 2 bosses and I believe the cap was removed in update so you should be able to get as many as you can and also get the ST loot which is ilvl 100 but can't be upgrade.

A1: Mythology is indeed gone. We cannot obtain it from any vendor in Eorzea. The only way to get it is to do the new expert dungeons[Snowcloak, Stasha HM, Quarn HM]. Replacing Mythology is, you guessed it, Soldiery! Soldiery replaces mythology just like Mythology replaced Philo all those many months ago. I personally don't like it since between 2.38-2.4 I was able to buy myth gear with Allied Seals and then desynth it in a few days with 2.4 and you can't do that now because Mythology was taken out of the Allied Seals vendor.

A2: Alexandrite is still here. You can still get it from doing the expert roulette and buying the Mysterious Maps via soldiery[not sure how much]. You can also buy Alexandrite for 200 Allied Seals[which I will get to in your later question]. Overall I personally think Alexandrite was easier to obtain in 2.3 because of the inflation of Mythology.

A3: The currency known as Allied Seals is the reward we get from killing hunts scattered across Eorzea and completing the daily/weekly mark bill. There are many uses for Allied Seals.

A4: At this point with the weekly lockout gone, CT2 is the best option since you also get 50 soldiery which is very good with the short time, compared to CT1, it takes to complete. Other than CT2 and SCoB you could buy sands for 750 allied seals and oil for 500 allied seals but frankly with CT2 that looks like a complete waste of seals at this point.

A5: I encourage you to get Nexus and be ready for the next upgrade. Right now Nexus is kind of moot when we have access to ilvl 120 tome weapons and ilvl 135 coil weapons, leaving Nexus at ilvl 115. But in time I believe it will measure up to those opposing weapons. Novus and Nexus is not easy and is, in my opinion, so far the hardest stages of the relic weapon. For nexus you must soulgaze your Novus and complete duties to obtain "light[general community calls it light]" progress for your Nexus. In short your Novus must get 2000 light and easy category of duty can give different values of light.

A6: Eh. I personally don't know since I try to stay out of EX DF content. But we must remember there are always new players across many servers and unfortunately gear elvel and echo can only help so much.

A6: Savage Coil is the harder version, if you will, of SCoB. I personally don't know all of the lore behind it but I do believe it is, simply put, the design of the fights that SE could not beat with the set gear level or bare to even give to use when we were not even close to being ready[matter of opinion, though.] The only reward from completing this savage coil is an achievement with a title reward, no loot.

A8:
Desynthesis - So you should know about Desynthesis. Desynthesis is the concept of players desynthesizing items by breaking them down into items that would, in theory, be used to craft the said item. It gets very wishy washy when you look into CUL desynth because you can indeed desynthesize a fish for a pair of sandals. What you NEED to understand is there items out there that can only be obtained via Desynthesis and these items are also used in many crafting recipes so in a way Desynthesis and crafting go hand in hand. In 2.3 the best gil, in my opinion, was in desynthesis.

Ramuh: Ramuh sucks. Hopefully you find a group with some brains and the attention span to focus for 10 minutes at a time. I mean no disrespect, that is just my opinion of the general groups I run into most of the time.

  SOL is now the new lower Tome now that poetics is now the top one.

  the deal is now that SOL is 2nd tome you can get a Alex map for 400 SOL, do a daily quest for 1 peice of Alexdrite and trade in 200 alied seals for one too from the hunt master.

  You can get them from Mor Dhona in exchange for blood splatered Log. Sands require 3 while oil just 2. You can get Logs from S Rank hunts or 250 seals from hunt master.
• Novus to Nexus? What does the nexus quest entail/upgrade/offer etc?
  Not sure, almost got novus but from what I heard certain duties will glow that once you one them will give you light and once you have enough light, nexus time!

  HM 9/10 I find that we alwasy win where as EX, I don't try.

  When the devs 1st made Coil, they edited it to make it easier for the puplic. Savage is basically the originally verison.
• What other major changes should I know about. I've read some patch notes but once people work stuff out and learn to speed run stuff it's better to ask the community.
  Depends on what dungeon your doing.
