Would need a tank to really say which you want for sure. I'm not a tank.

VIT will raise your max HP.

STR is going to make your damage greater, meaning you will generate more enmity per swing. STR will also improve how much damage you block or parry when you actually block or parry. DEX will affect the likelihood of blocking or parrying.

Most tanks pump VIT since in all situations it's better to have more hp as a tank. DEX is a really bad idea for a tank since you're giving up that hp for a "chance" to reduce damage by a marginal percentage. STR is something you could potentially invest in, but you get a bigger bonus from your gear and weapon to the point where those points would be trivial.

If you want to know what each stat does for you, go to the character window and hover over a stat (mouse) or select it (controller) and you should get a little tooltip window explaining its effects.

As for tanks, either full VIT or a split between VIT and STR are popular answers. Some tanks go full STR, but that's more popular for Warriors than Paladins. But basically you can't go too far wrong if you're sticking with those two.

(For my own Paladin alt, I'm sticking with full VIT for now while leveling him. Once I get him to endgame and have lots of GC seals, I may get a couple of those point reset items and try out alternatives, but I'm not going to worry about that until later.)

10 posts per page is only the default setting; it is bad, and you should feel bad if you haven't changed it.
