Eorzea seems small.....Really it's not that small...but ease of travel makes it seem that way. I was thinking back to other games, and how like in Final Fantasy VII, you would get to a point of no turning back. At least not for a while. Climbing the icy wall and just going up. No going back down now...... After reaching the journey's end, you really felt accomplished. You had to stick it out and just keep pressing forward. So I had a thought.....

What if in the future of FFXIV, we got zones that had conditions for leaving them. Maybe storywise. We'd need to keep moving forward with our goal. I know people probably love the fast traveling everywhere, we've been spoiled for a while. But I would like to see less aetherytes moving forward, and this loss in convenience could leave us vulnerable as we move about possibly giving some really dangerous zone that we can't simply just run to a quiet spot and teleport out of. I don't know...something. I just feel like we get around too easily and we don't stop and appreciate the environment around us in the game. I want that sense of accomplishment for reaching someplace that felt so distant and required effort to get to. Thoughts?
