As a level 32 ninja, lemme assure you it's QUITE different from monk. First of all, we run faster, and can do flips!

I'm excited to grind FATE's again. I managed to get in the first 20 levels yesterday in spite of having to work all day. It's about time to get some friends together and trade dungeon runs though--I don't want to wait until end-game to learn to play ROG/NIN effectively.

That video looks the same as a video from Sept of 2013. DPS (1 of 5 classes/jobs) claims mob(s) and kites around, typically dies.

My Rogue is only 27 atm. I've been doing a mix of leves, hunt log, and FATEs. 30+ I will be doing Dungeons, likely pre-formed.

The biggest thing I saw yesterday was Rogues 2-3 lvls above me doing the same levequest as me. On the same difficulty (mob lvls were the same), with a Choco and just getting destroyed.

At least there is Trial and Error in doing Leves and Dungeons. The FATE grinds for many players will hurt them in the long run. Again, nothing really new.

Ninja ARE a melee class, let's not kid ourselves. They have more options for ranged attacks than Monk or Dragoon, but the vast majority of their abilities are meant to be done right in the enemy's face.
What they DO have going for them is, except for a few attacks with rather sizable cooldowns, their attacks aren't dependent on positions. A ninja's DPS generally won't change if the mobs are moving around. In fact sneak attack hits harder from the FRONT of the mob (if you're wondering about the logic behind that, remember how most of your important bits are in the front of your body), but most ninja will be using Trick Attack in group situations for the debuff.

well for one monk completely sucks so far with playing ninja ive notice one negative about it
and i love ninja so far its my favoirt dps but i cant stand pug/monk one bit

Hide disables when some party memebers go into combat making most of are sneak combos kinda worthless

MNK is my only class not above 15 i really don't like it.. i don't even think i will bother levelling it for its cross classes lol.. i do love NIN though, so people saying its the same are mistaken

I was joining FATEs with these new ninjas all day yesterday and I gotta say it was hilarious.
