What happens is you need to do enough damage to it to interrupt. On one of the last ones, however, another cactuar pops up and uses Cover on it, so you need to kill that add as fast as possible, then change to the boss.

Since you said you burned everything down, you probably burnt the add and then the boss and didn't realise what the exact mechanic was. xD

Yeah, that's what most likely happened. Flawed mechanic!

I didn't wipe at all. We always DPS the adds and it was just a surprise to see the Sabotender stop it's cast and it was like, "OH!"

I believe you did that unconscious. To stop the one shot mechanic, you need to kill the big cactuar spawm later in the fight and then hit the boss. There will be 1 and then 2 so if you have aoe power and can aoe everything, that fight is like drinking water.

back on topic: take 2 wipe to figure that out (DF pug party)

I did it with 2 brds as dps. That fight easy if you have a blm willing to Aoe everything.

1 wipe. Seems i was the only one to figure out how the mechanics worked in my group. I was the healer though so I couldnt do much haha. I told them what to do and then we killed it :d

2nd boss in satasha took me about 6 wipes to figure out though. We only killed it cuz we used tank lb and i popped everyhting I had.

Then on my 2nd run with 3 fc members we tried all kinda stuff. Like running far from him, trying to share the damage, run around him. We even thought that bird at the outside if the battlefield had something to do with it before we thought of "hey maybe just dps voss when he does it" we thought that was too much lile the cactaur boss so it would be weird if they had the same mechanic

I had to make a macro for this fight, spamming it to make them focus. Even with that, they were derping hard...

On my first go we had Monk and Dragoon and it was dead easy. You only need to kill 1 add quickly and the rest are weak anyway.

Damage boss for Sastasha 2nd boss, kill add(s) for Catuar boss in Qarn.

OR.... just burn everything again.
