Been trying to complete it for a while now, especially those last few days. Thought I would bring some friends along because, I don't know, the more the merrier or something like that. So yeah, helicoprion. It's 4 pm and I've been sitting here for 5 in game hours already, trying to catch that first HQ storm rider to be ready to mooch when the weather changes. One of my friends dismounts, lands the HQ with her first cast and then... you've guessed it. Helicoprion. First attempt. Ever. Doesn't even own her lucis yet *_*

I don't know how I'm feeling right now.

Sort of reminds me of The Old Man in the Sea, my personal luckiest catch. Weather combo comes up, I decide to try to catch it for the very first time. Head to the ship, join the other Fishers there, eat my food (had low stats back then), and cast my line. HQ Herring, cool, good start! (Mooch) HQ Ogre Barracuda, wow, that's lucky! (Mooch) (Big tug) (Successful Old Man catch.) Huh... Well, got what I came for. Later, guys!

I caught the Urth's fish while working on filling out my fishing log. When I went to desynth it - it wanted me to check a box because it was untradeable. I looked up the fish. This is how I found out about the quest lol. I've been working on it for 2-3 weeks now, obsessing about weather patterns and camping at the Skywatcher. I've got one fish left - the desert fish - Helicoprion. That weather pattern has been a real pain and then I seem to just get Dune Mantas, when/if I get HQ Storm Riders. The best I seem to get is 12 mins from a 4pm heat window opening. I've never gotten a daytime heat following fog/clouds. My obsession will continue until I get this done.

I thought the worst one was the Coerthas fish. In the last 2-3 weeks, I've only seen the weather pattern 4 times.

And I still can't turn ANYTHING in yet because the Helicoprion is one of the first 3. >.<

Same exact same thing happened to me except we both have BiS everything + Lucis. I've seen 3-4 ppl hop off and get this fish. I've been to 5+++ windows now and nuthin..

I caught the Shoni. I've had my doubts, felt sadness when the few HQ Mahars I managed to mooch led to my prey escaping, but ultimately my luck, erm, fishing leet skills, prevailed.

I'm not talking to the Skywatcher ever again.

Shonisaurus spawned twice last night (surprisingly!!!! this rarely happens). and i failed to HQ Mahar

sigh. not enough time left till heavensward ;_;. planning to quit fishing in HW till 3.5. unless they rework this horrible unforgiving rng system.

but i still want Of Dragons Deep title before HW

To the envy of my fellow fishers at that point in time when I got Shoni... I got to the spot, we queued up for something... came out window open, I swap, pop food, cast... hq cloud cutter, mooch, hq mahar, mooch... shoni caught... the others around there were kinda speechless... think it was my third or fourth window I've managed to get to. And that was with lucis and AF+foragers hat.

Still gotta work for the ironworks rod though... nearly half way there.
