Hm...... I think its working as intended. Ppl doing dungeons is probably what SE wanted? Cuz i'm sure tht hunts was just a terrible thing for the forums, community and gear progression.
Made raiders who got loot from scob go like wtf? We worked hard for our drops.
Made casuals go like QQ can't even get credit.
Made dedicated casuals go like awwwww yeah LFG hunts in all of their elite hunt LSs.
Made the majority rage when things got pulled early and started fights on the chat / forums due to some guy just wanting to pull it asap.
Sooo im sure hunts will get revamped in 3.0. Cuz we all know how important hunts were XD.
Allied seals received should've doubled. It's mostly for glam anyway.

It's like I'm saying stuff, but people aren't reading. First of all, there were people who were actually working in canvasing zones and finding hunt marks, and tracking ToDs so resources were allocated properly and the correct zones were covered. If all you did was show up then you're a leech, and if your server didn't have coordination on Hunts, then you're on a bad server.
Secondly, thanks to RNGsus, many raid groups got shafted on drops, with many people being left out of the reindeer games and never seeing their gear drop. 8 drops a week, split between 8 people, and most raid groups had nothing to do outside the night they set aside to farm content.
It seems to me that Hunts as they were from July - October were vilified and it baffles me the community sentiment.

I'll say it again: the Hunts, at least as they were, were a player boost.
Think about it: Dungeons are legitimately tougher now. Going off of Suggested Average iLevels (80), we're all running content generally at a baseline of i100, tougher than the original Turn 4 (75), but easier than Turn 5 (83), and even then we ran those generally overgeared. Did you all expect it to stay so easy forever? Hunts weren't difficult, they weren't meant to be, and with rewards so bountiful, what else could they have been but a fast track to boost players up to the new bottom line for the challenges ahead? Think about any old RPGs you may have played. Remember when you started finding chests with really awesome items, or NPCs were suddenly so generous with items/armor; what usually came next? A boss battle, or some other tough challenge.
The honeymoon is over. Hunts are still here for those who enjoy them, but the bar has been raised, and hunting alone will not get you to the top. The road is closed. Climb the mountain.
I have to say I love how hunts is right now.
Because there's almost no people doing it, (Perhaps around 20 or 30 for an A, instead of 200) I can go solo, with just my chocobo and my nin nin and obtain the 20 seals nevertheless. Because I have not to fight for contribution with other 15 full parties and the monster is not killed in one second but in two-three minutes... And I have to say it is awesome without having to say "Inv" or inviting people, just going alone.

Please put hunts the way they were before. Or at least up the reward a little. It was nice to have an alternative to repetitive dungeons. I thought the whole point was to have open world content? I've gotten everything I need with allied notes and no longer have any reason to do hunts![]()
I'm very happy with where A ranks are right now.
S ranks, not so much. Too many people still do them.

What should be done, could be done and hasn't been done:
Raid/dungeon gear should be unique have (potentially) higher levels/stats than any other gear
Hunt gear should be unique offer a different style/flair but still pack a punch (basically more amazing looking GC gear sets.) 1 gear set should be, let say, ilvl 90 gained from rank A and below hunts while Rank S hunts give a special seal that can be traded in for gear after X number of seals.
Crafted gear should be complementary of these two gear sets offer yet a third style with at least equal gear to the Hunt gear.
This would permit people with Hunt gear to (especially S rank gear) to say look what I've done, while not diminishing the look at my awesome gear of Raiding or crafting.
As for gear = dungeon readiness for each tier of dungeons have a set "flag" that triggers on completion (like an achievement) that permits or denies access to the next tier.
