Why does he need a DPS check for dungeons anyway? I rolled my poorly geared MNK just for the lulz to the new dungeons and still keep up with my party members.

[QUOTE=maxthunder1;2558237]So hunts is not boring and monotonous as well? Standing around, teleport to the place, pull, zerg zerg zerg, dont have to do correct rotations for your Job or even dodge aoes, get your reward, move and wait for the next spawn?snip
Im sorry you feel that you need to control how others like to play. Personally I hate dungeons they are boring and monotonous. Just because you or others like dungeons dosent mean every one should and that also means that other players should not be forced into doing something so monotonous as those damn instanced dungeons or primals. I am sure there are others that are so sick and tired of the same song and dance with both dungeons and primals. Hunts gave us some of what we wanted and thats open world content.
Sounds pretty or even more boring to me.

Well if you do enjoy Hunts... do you enjoy it because of the content OR because of the rewards? Seriously people only care about Hunts since it gives Sands and Oils and people were like "OMG I DONT HAVE TO DO SECOND COIL BECAUSE I SUCK BUT I CAN HAVE GOOD GEARS BY JUST WAITING FOR SOMETHING TO SPAWN AND ZERGING THE HECK OUT OF IT!". Seriously if you want the cool items you gotta do the harder content - that's how progressive MMOs works. SE is kind enough to give the Relic questline for those who prefer grinding than doing endgame content, which gives a really strong weapon when it reaches Nexus. Why must one be the main way and the other be sub-optimal way? I don't enjoy running dungeons daily. I do enjoy running hunts with new people, making new friends on the server, and shooting the shit with people I've never met. I make friends while hunting, I don't make friends while doing dungeons. Please bring back the potency to hunts that allows me to actually have the most fun I can while playing your game, and still remain relevant.
Just to say, dear sir, your opinions are almost like if you'd take them out from my mind and write them for me. Totally agree with you about the damn hunt, thanks for explaining it to the others... (Seriously, 2.3 was a PATH-BREAKER....2.4 now finally solves it and people whines? Can't understand it. Hunt is what it should have been now, an alternative, just that... NOW IT IS EVEN MORE ENJOYABLE... Because there are less people doing it and it is funnier and interesting to fight. (At certain hours you can enjoy doing your A fights with just one full party or two around)
But it stills being the same, wait for linkshell, teleport, zerg, nothing more. It doesn't even deserve to be called hunt properly, nobody is out there searching at all and exploring Eorzea to find the monsters... They just wait for linkshells, and in the case they find it by casualty then they also post.
Enjoyable is pretty subjective, though I do agree that hunts were previously OP'd in the rewards they give. In the end though, it's still a pretty stupid implementation that they really never hit a middle ground for. It's an over-glorified world spawn that used to give Overpowered rewards, now it's an over-glorified world spawn that only really gives overpriced rewards (the hunting set glamour goes around 600 seals for one piece last I checked, and dear god why is the twin adder one so bad ugly).
Top that off with users still running into some issues as far as S ranks loading up, or just the hunts in genral being an overall douchebag with their placements for a leveling/new player

To the people crying over having to run the same dungeons forever to cap Poetics:
Ex Roulette rewards 75 Poetics, with that, you only need to do 6. You don't even need to do High Roulette to cap in a week. If you do just 1 Ex Roulette a day starting at reset, you will cap by Sunday.
I don't see how running these new dungeons is boring compared to running through a zone when a mob window is open, waiting 5-10mins for people to assemble, then hardly seeing what happens to the mob for 20-50 Soldiery tomes - Especially when you only have to do it once a day.
Agree to your point. In my server at least hunts are still very active because:Enjoyable is pretty subjective, though I do agree that hunts were previously OP'd in the rewards they give. - Some people loves the concept.
- Others who didn't, now love it because there are less people, it feels better and more challenging now.
- It stills being the best way to get novus fast.
- It is a good way to get some extra soldiery while waiting for a queue or other thing. (You just go two minutes, kill the monster, gain half of what you'd gain in a 20 min dungeon).
I personally still hunting with some friends, not that frenzy of 2.3, but when I'm bored waiting for queue, I need extra soldiery for Animus and I can't afford to buy soldiery gear, so allied seals are used for obtaining the 110 gear instead.
In my opnion, now hunting is awesome, likeable, not forced anymore, and even has some attractive because not so many people spamming it (Except S ranks)

For the love of god please do NOT give Poetics with Hunts any more than you do. When people were running around on their first class at level 30 bragging how they have a full 90 set waiting for them when they hit 50 that's an issue. When you haven't learned any party mechanics, or class skills and just spam buttons in open-world button mash fests and then get into HM content completely clueless how to function in parties it not only makes it discouraging for that player when they hit a wall but a bad experience for the other folks who now get lumped with someone who is 100% unaware of what they are doing. I understand moving content along and that's a good thing to catch people up to end game. But let it be earned more via actual content rather than run here - spam attack - run here - spam attack. That's pretty weak.
I never really liked hunts to begin with, it was just an overglorified world boss. Post 2.4 is no different, though there are signifcantly les people sacking A ranks now...much to the frustration to some players when that Tonberry spawns next to the ninja npc.
It's just...they could've done better if they wanted to, like tie it to actual tracking or conditional spawning without extremely vague/misleading tips (looking at you, Gerlok), among other things.

I think the Seal costs need some adjustment but overall I think the hunts are fine now. If the argument is that it's the only open world content then put something else, not something as absurd as 2.3 hunts.
