I think is should be a combo of both... as in ffxi cs only allow 3 people (two melee's and a mage) at the most basic, BR deals with many folks trying to get into the action.. melee's would create the chain then mage's would give a extra burst, then would have to wait for 100+ tp and start over.. But BR allows everyone to jump in but you have to stand around waiting till your turn happens without attacking and such..

now think about CSing with two melee's and a burst happens, now a mage or two hits the burst with magic, now another melee tap's another /ws and a burst happens, mages nail it with magic, etc, etc, etc. this could continue happening till someone screwed up using the wrong the /ws and magic to kill the chain off..

this way skill combo's would flow together like FFxi but at the same time others could extend the chain with more people making it like BR attacks with out the delay of sitting around not attacking. the effect could work quite the opposite as as it worked in FFXI...

Start with light(fire, wind, lightning). now the most basic form of the cs and many melee's at the beginning many people would be able to jump in and continue the SC, but at higher levels(have more abilities or /ws from other classes) one would focus to the mob's weaker element, such as fire.

just a thought, I just like FFxi style of cs flowed together and i like the BR how everyone can join in.
