That argument might hold water if end game crafted items were comparable to end game raiding gear thats faster/easier/cheaper to get for the most part.
SE said they want the best gear coming from raids, so nothing you craft will ever be comparable statwise to drops from dungeons, and no one will want it other than maybe for a glamour.Well said Satori. Not interested in crafting end game gear, I make money with it, lots of it. You'd be surprised at how much crafting you can do for alot of other items in the game. But that would take time and ambition and since things don't get handed too you its meh I ain't going to do that....
Any serious crafter has the gil (made from crafting) and time ready to set aside for the new recipes.

Ah yes, I want things handed to me.... not. I've got nearly every crafting class to 50 and I've made my share of millions on them as I leveled, don't think I didn't. (Nice try at a veiled insult btw, but really lame attempt)Not interested in crafting end game gear, I make money with it, lots of it. Its not like I'm poor, I own a house of my own, and plenty of rare things that you dont see everyone walking around with, but SE keeps applying its "insane grind" logic to everything, and its getting real old real quick. High end crafting could be made challenging without feeling like its another 9-5 job.

This, its not "either-or", and it really feels excessive right now, especially in light of the fact that we are limited to decorative items.Ah yes, I want things handed to me.... not. I craft (and gather) because I enjoy it, and I quite like being self-sufficient. Very very slowly working on upgrading my crafters and gatherers; only just got my artisans spectacles, and I'm slowly levelling my ALC to 50 for that final skill (think it's Comfort Zone). So I'm not stressing at all about 4 star reqs, my view is that it's a work in progress that will take me months, and I'll do it because it's fun and no other reason. Which is pretty much the reason I do anything in this game. If it's not fun - if I don't enjoy it ( yes, I'm looking at you, Titan) - then I'll steer clear

this argument would make sense if the gear we crafted was not sellable... so no raiding is not the fastest. buying penta melded 4 star gear takes all of about half a second to hit buy. (dispite the amount of time it takes to make that kinda gil) and no im no elitest protecting endgame raiding... still havent cleared t5 lol. That argument might hold water if end game crafted items were comparable to end game raiding gear thats faster/easier/cheaper to get for the most part.

"Try not. Do or do not. There is no try."

The worst patch to hit crafting yet.
Consider the fact for a second that you had 445 Durability and 4980 Quality to meet before for 3 Star crafts and THAT was difficult with max melds, (RNG Based HQ)
If you use a single HQ mat in the recipe, you barely budge it maybe 6-8% at best.
They nearly doubled BOTH the Durabliity AND the Quality required. Like serious what the hell is this crap? 8964? Absolutely retarded.
The worse part is, only the offhand which is gated behind a week or so of rank 5 Ixali Dailies, is able to be obtained as an upgrade.
Completely overtuned.
In hindsight, like all crafts, they're actually not *that* bad. RNG can suck but I was consistently hitting over 50% after I fine-tuned my rotation.
But I agree, 4 star crafts kind of suck right now, especially with some of the mats behind gated behind content no one farms anymore (i.e. T1-5).
