That $15 you pay every month could save lives instead of playing a fake virtual world.
No wait, don't ever buy anything for fun because it can go to charity instead. Or at least things that Phe feels is beneath him.

Why's that anger?
Did my words offend you in any way?
A P2P MMO is a hobby where you also get a social platform to interact with other people.
I don't think that's quite the same as virtual vanity items.
Don't you think it wouldn't be nice if there are some people who spent their bucks to help other people instead of using it for vanity stuff?
Consider this wish as a personal opinion.
You don't have to share this opinion, but at least please try not to be rude.
While I disagree with a lot of what she says when it comes to female appearance she has a point:
Someone stating: "The $24 you spent on a virtual horse could have gone to charity"...is, while not silly or misinformed...a bit odd to say when you're paying to play a video game, monthly..up to $120+ a year..which, too, could have gone to charity, no?

Okay first of all, hobby and charity is not mutually exclusive.
But probably it is just a matter of perspective, because to me it just seems absolutely absurd to spend RL money on virtual vanity items.
I've got a clear picture of what i get for these 12 bucks a month. chatting with LS buddies, goin raid with my static on TS, having fun doing quests, dungeons and whatnot.
How exactly is that Sleipnir experience worth 24$?
Maybe charity was just one of the million examples where I personally think money is better spent for than on this vanity stuff.
I just want people to consider and think twice before they spend it on the cash shop items.
if the mount had 2 months of game time attached to it, cool. but for it's price? no. the halloween items shouldn't even be in the cash shop. no holiday items should be in the cash shop.
i'm going to point something out here. you are going to get what? 2000 people with tons of disposable income who buy it at this price? but if you charge $5 for it the amount you will sell would be more around 50,000 players. so at what your currently selling it at you would make $48,000 but charging $5 and getting 50k sales you would make $250,000.... so.... why charge the price of the gain?
it's a digital item that can't be traded right? it has no value what so ever in game other then, wew odin's horse wew! people wont care because it is a waste of money. this isn't entropia universe were i could buy the horse then a year later sell it for 30X what i paid for it.
continued.
you can change the price now and refund the extra cash to the people who bought them, or you could give them subscription time as a sorry.
but right now your taking the path that kills games when they add cash shops.
Wild speculation is nice, but where is the guarantee that more people will spend money on the item if the price dropped?i'm going to point something out here. you are going to get what? 2000 people with tons of disposable income who buy it at this price? but if you charge $5 for it the amount you will sell would be more around 50,000 players. so at what your currently selling it at you would make $48,000 but charging $5 and getting 50k sales you would make $250,000.... so.... why charge the price of the gain?
During the 24 hr maintenance ive tried WoW and after I saw the prices there :
£22 for mounts
£14 for minions /pets
I realised SE is actually giving out the stuff on Cash Shop for a very decent price
not to mention Sleipnir looks way better than any mount Blizzard has put on their store. =\

But SE needs the money! I'm going to buy 500 Sleipnirs to support them! /sarcasm
Honestly, what did you expect? People keep defending them left and right, asking to pay for things on top of their sub (even those that were included in it before), and not caring at all about it not being customer friendly. The folks at SE are just being smart businessmen (nope, they aren't our friends).
