All armor is "weathered" until you buy Allagan catalysts from the cash shop to upgrade it.
Please look forward to it.

I'm already canceled two retainers from my subscription, and not that stupid and pay real money for some mounts or minions that we could actually obtained in game.
They have become greedy.
Okay, this thread has now gotten entirely derailed off topic.
This thread is about Cash shop items are too expensive.
if you want to complain about cash shop being in game in general, please direct yourself to http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...hop-confirmed/
There is an abundance of people here who will quite agree, or debate with you.
Now, back on topic.
I hope all mounts available aren't going to be this price. that smore than I paid for the game itself!

I have to say i think they should have avoided Cash Shop, Anytime i see people say "its only vanity" lying to yourself. That's how all cash shops start with vanity then overtime you will see some pay to win aspects. This is just a form of being a greedy they are a pay to play game they shouldn't need cash shop. Giving WoW as a excuse is just bad because its Warcraft that has a huge fanbase so of course it will have many dedicated followers.
Most games that have cash shop either go free to play or close down, Like Tera wasn't doing well went free to play then added cash shop, SWTOR went free to play added cash shop. Cash shops are made for free to play games for them to have some form of income because it's not pay to play. When a pay to play does it will be seen as greed nothing else. You have to remember they invest money to do this service and create these items so instead of using this on content they waste it on cash shop. Personally they should just get rid of it, they just want extra cash that's it not need to sugar coast it and believe what SE says, its just PR talk to make them look good and not be creating for reasons that we think. I mean the guy even said that they wouldn't add cash shop to this game a year later...cash shop... can you honestly believe what he says now? I mean he also says that Final coil won't be down quickly without some new gear and look people already on last turn.
On-topic: I think its too expensive personally. But its their choice and i cant really do much about it, buy if you want dont if dont support it
It's already an established norm (Actually a wee bit cheaper) which is effective everywhere else. That is why.
Bet a quarter of the population already bought it. The 10 people here complaining about how high it is just does not compare to the ones that already have it.
Sales. Please look forward to it.

I fail to see why vanity affects you. If you don't buy it, great. You saved money. If you do, you support SE. It's always going to be for profit toward the game no matter how you spin it.
Yoshida said explicitly, "No pay to win."
So stop crying because you can't buy a damn pony. In no way is someone's purchase affecting you.
So, quit crying Wolf when there is none.
If there was, I'd be first in line to stab it.

People keep going on about this for ages and ages, getting boring already. Grow a pair, move on, stop crying because you do not want to get a pony!

Just to compare to Guildwars 2 (I often do)
Most vanity stuff there is like, $2-5 for minor stuff. A Full body skin (complete suit of armor skin) might run $10. And this is a no-sub game...so it's a little more justified. Also, you can get the "Real Money" currency by trading in game currency, so you need not use any real money at all if you're thrifty.
They offer sets of 25 or so items which can be expensive, but individually the most expensive item is somewhere around $10.

There's really no reason why the mount should cost nearly double a monthly fee.

Companies used to develop items like this and place them into expansions. They would then charge us $30-$40 for the expansion. So if you consider the amount of content that typically comes in an actual expansion then divide it by the number of new items introduced the minions and mount should cost about 10 cents. Now one 'could' argue that we are given content for free through the .1 .2 additions but it could also be argued that those were simply items that were supposed to be in the last release that didn't make it and should have been included in the last cost. Since they have already intended to charge us for the Heavensward expansion yet they are 'still' trying to shake additional coin out of us through a cash shop, that is what puts this squarely into the realm of greed and overpriced BS. However... since the player base still consists of too many willing to spend money on them we should not expect anything to change anytime soon.
There is a reason the old saying, "A fool and his money are soon parted" exists...
