XI? I didn't know XI has their own cash shop? Or I just never saw it? I do play XI. Funny thing you mention that.

I meant XI doesn't have a cash shop, and offers last year's event gear through NPCs (for gil). FFXIV followed this, and that shouldn't change imo.

Japanese literature are similar with chinese, they read it from right to left as opposed to general language that reads from left to right. And this game came from Japan. Not sure you could force your way with that angry emotes. lol

I was under the impression the minions wouldn't be cash shop exclusive, and could be obtained in game at some point, is this true?
Real sad to see content that should be obtainable through effort being sold for cash.

I personally don't care if minions or mounts are in the cash shop (and IMO they are reasonably priced so I care even less). These things are not actual content required to play the game, they don't give anyone a one-up over another player - and therefore are perfectly fine examples of appropriate items to put in the cash shop. I do agree that old event items should be obtainable at an NPC during said event for gil (as they have in the past) but I understand SE's reasoning behind offering them in the cash shop. The only thing I would suggest is maybe lowering the price of the mount(s) to $20 instead (btw WoW's mounts are $25 not $20 and $35 for the 2-person one).

So people complaining they can't get their minions/mounts because they cost money - either accept that you can't have every minion/mount in the game or fork over the money and buy it like everyone else.

Very true. I'd expect them to do that too probably. Idk about titles though but I could see vanity armor or weapons making an appearance.

..Well.. ok maybe past event titles or something. (Things not achievable in game anymore)

and housing... and housing interior options, furniture, and decorations. All of that is vanity.

See, if this were a F2P game, sure, you'd have an excellent point. Problem is, we're currently paying a subscription fee for the purpose of them developing new content for the game. That includes vanity content. Why should we continue paying subscription fees, knowing they're developing content that is being designed to be cash shop exclusive?

ALL content should be available to a player who only pays the subscription, even if through an arduous, long grind, it should be available. Currently, the new mounts/minions we get have been palette swaps. The first original looking mount we've received in a while, and it ends up ONLY available if you're willing to spend extra cash above the subscription? That just doesn't sit right with me.

From what I have read, people are claiming the sub only pays for your connection. So I would propose that SE needs to put out COMPLETED expansions, so that when you pay for an expansion you get all the content... instead of half finished content, with no idea what will be added/included.

Though frankly, I am not sure why those people feel that a connection in this game justifies a sub, when other games have connections that don't cost anything.... and generally work better - no third party apps required to get a decent connection for some folks... >.>
