Talan wants 3 of the 3-star untradeable items e.g. Balanced Darksteel Hook. HQ. I feared this when I read in the patch notes that these were now HQable.
Need nearly 9000 quality. Feeling mildy sick right now lol. Even with the single HQable ingredient (maybe worth 1500 quality?)

On the upside the artisan tools look like standard 3-star stats so doable, other than the sealants.

To HQ the turn in items, is like HQ'ing those 3 star weapons. PBP will only get you so far. The good news is you can desynth what you fail, the bad news is you get fieldcraft demimateria I from them.... This is an insult and does nothing but encourage RMT for those who aren't willing to desynth all the fieldcraft 3 they will need.

No weapon has 9000 quality to hit. That's 4000 more than the weapons. Praise RNGesus!

I said it was like the weapons, not the same, though my 1.2million lost gil on 3 failures (to HQ, not to synth), is evidence enough that this is insulting to players. If I wanted RNGesus to plague me, I'd go develop a gambling addiction elsewhere.

Sorry Heartbreaking, and I am truly terrified of trying it soon. Gonna work towards getting the new artisan tools first and see how they work out. Figuring out the max melds for those is gonna hurt too...
