However, we received feedback from our players which stated that the one hour gap between the originally scheduled maintenance’s end time and the weekly reset time may result in a rush of player logins, potentially causing server congestion and general chaos. For this reason, we have decided to extend the maintenance end time by one hour. Thank you all for your various feedback.

I guess technically subteraneanbird is correct. Nowhere in those notes does it state that there would or would not be a huge rush of players because of some small patch or update. The only said they would remove the rush of players because of the weekly reset time. Which they did. And yet, here we all are, knowing the weekly reset time was going to be the least of the reasons why people would log in right after servers come up.

It was to prevent people grabbing a whole week's worth of poetics right before reset, essentially putting them a week ahead.
