I honestly believe a /visor-like option for some future armor sets would be a wonderful addition. People who like to show skin can show skin, people who want to be fully covered can be fully covered. I think it'd be well worth the development, considering it'd turn any such armor sets into essentially two different ones, glamour-wise.

I remember people complaining about the Noct Lorica being unchanged for female characters (those abs tho)

Only trying to bring up the fact DRK armor has always been more complete in design through out the series.

Seriously guys come, on when you play as a FF job you want to be seen as that job not as a costumed stripper. For those of us who play as female characters you obviously have no thought of how you are represented in the game. For some people this isn't just something cute to watch from behind and /blow kiss towards the camera on those lonely nights. Their character represents them, proud female gamers being the heroines in their own stories.

The option to make your perfect skimpy doll will still be there. As i stated before i have many alts all rocking bikini armor glamours, but AF/ Tome armor gear sets should represent the jobs/roles. For those that simply must have more skin, there's always Tera online, and Blade and soul, telling some one to play another game is only half as rude as telling some one to change character genders for gear visuals imho.

Have they even revealed what it looks like for female characters? I've never even seen it yet.

Please make the female Dark Knight gear a chainmail bikini. I don't want to wear it, but the tears would be delicious.

As long as it doesn't look bad on female as Noct Lolica...I don't really mind at all.

This thread is just so ridiculous to me. "OH NO! A BARE MIDRIFF! IT'S THE END OF ALL TIMES! WOMEN ARE BEING PROPAGATED AS THINGS!"

...... oooor they're very modestly highlighting certain female characteristics that make the armor look good on the gender. And I don't mean attractive, but just "look good". Men and women have different characteristics that make them look good when it comes to clothing. Creating more pronounced shoulders in men, showing off wider chests, hiding hairy bellies etc. And women have their own facets that are amplified by their clothes. There's a reason a woman won't/doesn't look as good in the same clothes a man wears; it wasn't designed for her. (It's why your local department store has a mens and a womens section).

So when I see these threads where people are clamoring for their female character to wear EXACTLY what a man wears, I shake my head in disappointment. If you want to play as a girl and look like a dude because you think it's more respectful, then just get a male character with long hair, problem solved.

    Seriously.

You're basically asking for armor that squashes every trace of femininity from the character, so why not just NOT be a female. If you want to play as a girl and actually be able to tell that you're a girl, ask for armor that's tailored for the female body.

I find it supremely lazy when the game DOESN'T change the armor a bit between the genders. Have you seen the Gerolt Tank Armor? In what universe does that look good on anyone but a male? I'm not saying it had to show off skin, but modifying it to suit the female form so she doesn't look like a trashcan with shoulders the size of boulders, manly Pecs and a 6-pack would have been nice (all very good looking aspects for a man). You can change form without sacrificing function.

I play a female character so I can look feminine AND kick ass at the same time. Not so I can imitate the male form, suppress all femininity, and still claim to have shapely hips and a pair of knockers buried away somewhere.

While I do completely agree with your post, I don't think female Lalafell have "shapely hips" or "knockers".

Some like to to wear showy clothes, while others like to wear more modest clothes. It’s a matter of “to each his/her own”.

    Personally, i agree with Lemuria:

There are items in FFXIV which are both feminine and modest. And not just flowery dresses either. There seems to be this illusion that a feminine outfit needs to show more skin, and that's a stereotype I'll be glad to see the end of.
It basically boils down to how you present yourself.

There are plenty of outfits that will make you look feminine that will make you look good, while still maintaining that modest look. For instance:
