    There is no exchange of credit card account information when I log in to FFXIV on my PS4. Also unless an RMT "hacker" physically stole my PS4, there is no way they could access my game character.

    No, but they can get the password and account name by hacking your PS4, then get your account, take all your items/gils, use your characters to advertise for their gold sells and then you get perma banned.

    You can't just "hack" a PS4 to steal info, the only possible way someone could do that was if they were piggybacking off your Wifi and tracking outgoing packets sent to the PSN/SEN servers and decrypt your login information from those packets, but even that is a 1/10000000000 chance of happening :P

    PC on the other hand, well...

    A PS4 is basically a PC. They have the extra layer of Playstation Network to get through but that hasn't exactly been a bastion of security in the past.
