are WHMs hard to come by?

Rather than white mages being hard to come by, my thoughts are as followed:
I believe the class/job is too bland for a lot players. Compared to a scholar, a white mage has a very small bread&butter skill kit. Resulting that those, who prefer a more active and dexterous class, prefer Scholar over White Mage.

This. Plus leveling up SCH also levels up SMN. Which is a nice change of pace if you want to just DPS or solo hunt. WHT is a pure healer, with a couple fun spells, but fairly bland.

And also, groups are thankless when it comes to healers. Many take things for granted. Don't get me wrong, some healers are prima donnas, but they do tend to be abused in groups. Like a great tank, if you find a clutch healer, add them as a friend. Especially a WHT since that's pretty much all they do is group.
