People probably don\\'t want to play whm because there is a large population of idiots in mmo\\'s who think that the only people who should play mmo\\'s are the people who\\'ve been playing mmo\\'s.

Also, scholar is easier, people are lazy. I find Scholar a bit boring but a lot of people don\\'t. There are a lot of people who are more into the social aspects of the game more than traditional video game / reflex type gameplay. I think scholar suits them better. It\\'s less work.

I have both my healers maxed and decently geared as secondary classes. At first I found myself using Scholar almost exclusively, but after having played White Mage more and more while looking for the Ramuh staff (which I finally found oh my god bless), I've come to see that I actually enjoy White Mage more. That isn't to say I don't find Scholar interesting - the way it heals is definitely different from White Mage, and I never had a problem adapting to either style. My server has a pretty decent mix, though, so if there's a party with a WHM in it I can go SCH, and if there's a party with a SCH I can go WHM.

I've noticed a shortage of whm on my server also. After my first static broke up (still QQ'ing about that), I've subbed regularly and had standing offers from several other talented groups. Some of the people I play with do say the shortage isn't whm in general, but good whm who know their job, especially when it comes to MP efficiency. (their words, not mine.) I can't remember the last time i asked for a Ballad as opposed to a Foes. Which is prolly why they refuse to let me do anything but whm

As to white mages switching to scholars, I recently leveled a scholar. I'm finding it interesting and fun, but I will always prefer whm i think. I feel so much more efficient when I can throw out a stoneskin, cure, regen, then dps, than when i'm throwing out adlos and succors trying to mitigate incoming damage while drying to keep my dot's up. I'm sure it's just because I'm still feeling out my full potential as a scholar, and i've known some amazing scholars, but i do love the whming.

On Malboro, I see a lot more WHM than SCH. As a WHM I would like to say, please bring more SCH! Running full parties with 2 WHM is of course doable, but as a matter of preference I think the WHM/SCH combo is the most reliable way to complete end game content.

WHM is just boring when compared to SCH.
SCH gets good healing, decent DD, and decent support skills from Selene.

With 9 jobs, you're looking at ~11% average per job, and you're complaining that SCH is the lowest at 9%?

I use WHM for Coil and Primal extreme because it's my main and I like it and it's the class I know how to use best... but for everything else I'm always on SCH because I'm lazy. If I want I can park my character somewhere and everyone will still be alive even if I take a break to chat or eat. I let Selen on Sic so I don't even have to manage that amd just breeze through stuff. I've used my WHM for a dungeon for the first time today since I brought my arcanist to 50 a couple of months ago.
