Because not every country have that infrastructure (or readily available at an affordable price) yet, lel?How is everyone not on Gigasbit internet yet?

that... and why upgrade when you can let everyone limp along on copper and still charge them an absurd premium price because no one else can match/exceed your top tier sub-gigabit speed? Base price for 15Mb is almost $60/month with no promotional rate in place... and even then it can still run you $40 or more depending if you are new or an existing customer.
Such a rip off... simply because the only alternatives in the area is at best 6Mbit from ADSL, or Wireless/Satellite with their ridiculous latency and datacaps.
Yeah.. when I heard that from some in game fellow players from Australia/Philippines/Malaysia/Some parts of the US about their horrendous ISPs and prices they pay... ugh.that... and why upgrade when you can let everyone limp along on copper and still charge them an absurd premium price because no one else can match/exceed your top tier sub-gigabit speed? ADSL2+ isn't too bad. For the longest time, it was the best that we had here unless you went with cable, and even then it often times outperformed cable. The problem with cable here is that it is inconsistent: connections to the popular speedtest sites are given priority status, and speeds during the weekend SUCK... That's what happens when your connection is shared on a giant friggin' loop with other leeches.
Now that we have 40mbit and 100mbit symmetric up/down VDSL2 connections, the cable provider is starting to feel the heat.
I guess the gigas pun was completely lost there.
I'm from the UK, our internet is cheap compared to most countries but there's not even been a murmer of gigabit internet over here AFAIK
