Thanks thread. I still don't know what you're about, but you prompted me to call my ISP to ask why I'm not getting the speed I'm paying for.
Like I mentioned in the previous post, if you don't have a DOCSIS 3.0 modem that could be a source of the speed issues.
Original post is over a year old... likely some information copy/pasted from information that was out there during beta or something. We've posted it over and over in the forums about how those IP's are invalid, and how to find the proper IP's. At least in the post you sited it actually gave the DNS names of the IP's... which should be a big clue that it's not a game server: eu.square-enix.com (go ahead... click it). But anyway... now more people will <hopefully> note that those addresses are invalid as game servers.I got the info from http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...4/forum/43814/ I will try that website you have ones server go's up
The front-ends for our worlds are still up, so the IP's are still responding to pings... for now at least:
The lobby servers are currently offline though, so you could only ping the world servers by their IP's. Just don't know which one your client is using yet.Code:Pinging 199.91.189.30 with 32 bytes of data: Reply from 199.91.189.30: bytes=32 time=51ms TTL=239 Reply from 199.91.189.30: bytes=32 time=49ms TTL=239 Reply from 199.91.189.30: bytes=32 time=48ms TTL=239 Reply from 199.91.189.30: bytes=32 time=59ms TTL=239 Ping statistics for 199.91.189.30: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 48ms, Maximum = 59ms, Average = 51ms

Definitely don't lose what I'm currently paying for. I also live an hour and a half from Montreal so there is that.
...gods i'm bored. Running speedtests to Montreal. I always do that when I test out my internet connection. I ALREADY KNEW THIS! -_-
I look forward to ruining my body overnight with constant caffeine intakes and going to work in the morning without any sleep. Just to run around in the damn game for a few hours. Patch pls.
that... and why upgrade when you can let everyone limp along on copper and still charge them an absurd premium price because no one else can match/exceed your top tier sub-gigabit speed? Base price for 15Mb is almost $60/month with no promotional rate in place... and even then it can still run you $40 or more depending if you are new or an existing customer.
Such a rip off... simply because the only alternatives in the area is at best 6Mbit from ADSL, or Wireless/Satellite with their ridiculous latency and datacaps.
