The positional requirements become 2nd nature after a while.
So whilst it may seem hard, and complex at first.. you'll end up just doing it naturally.

OP , you should play the class to learn it as second nature and not whine about it in here. All classes have about the same difficulty on playing, its just on different terms those difficulty pertains to. Melee's have positionals, casters have cast timers, and brd's have to keep their dps up in spite of giving mana and tp. Maximizing your own class to the fullest. OP, I highly suggest you just focus on 1 class and learn it all the way till you can maximize its full potential.
I main MNK and positional skills are like second nature to me and extremely simple, but as soon as I switch to DRG and try and do their rotations I feel slow and clumsy and i'm juggling abilities that feel unnatural. Do I think DRG is harder than MNK no, I just have less experience with the job. Don't like positionals, play tank essentially in most fights tank just stands there and uses 1,2,3 rotation..
I second this. I main DRG and started leveling up PUG for NIN, and I kept trying to do the DRG rotation lol. I don't mind the positional too much, in fact I find that as long as the tank doesn't constantly move the mob, that it really becomes second nature. That said, when I do FATE grinding for Atma or story-line, I find it easier to use my WAR so I don't have to worry about trying to get positions on mobs.I main MNK and positional skills are like second nature to me and extremely simple, but as soon as I switch to DRG and try and do their rotations I feel slow and clumsy and i'm juggling abilities that feel unnatural. So does face-rolling as a Bard include kiting in T7 then Brainjack and Homing Missle in T8?
Anyhow, positional attacks help to keep melee interactive with fights. Gives them more to do by making fights more dynamic for them. Before some changes Monk use to be able to keep pretty much optimal dps with a flank only rotation. It made the job very stale.
I agree with what you are saying in concept but the bolded section is just lolworthy. Both are easy but if you think that cast timers are even remotely on the same level as positional requirements while also not breaking rotations and avoiding aoes/mechanics, then just lol.OP , you should play the class to learn it as second nature and not whine about it in here. I experimented with MNK for a little while (got it up to ilvl 80) a few months ago. What some people fail to realize is that you get accustomed to the positional requirements as you're leveling up the class/job, so by the time you hit lvl 50, everything is second nature. The only reason I stopped playing it is because my hands began to hurt after playing for a few hours straight on a small PS3 controller. With Ninja being position-dependent AND me now having a PS4, which feels a lot better in my hands, I'll be making a return to melee DPS when I'm focused, and SMN/BLM when I feel lazy and just want to sit back and pew pew stuff.
All have their own difficulties, it's not that bard and casters can faceroll to get max dps. Casters, and especially BLM have to deal with cast timers and "dps on the move" problem that requires skill and some practice to not be impaired by a lot during movement heavy fight. Bards have their priority system for dps and it really digs into attention making it quite hard on mechanics heavy fights.but I have to ask, why is it that summoner, black mage, and bard get to lol faceroll the keyboard to obtain optimal dps from a SAFE range....while EVERY melee dps, (including Ninja) has to struggle with positioning along with over complicated rotations and being at risk of so much more hostile fire?
No, please don't play tank. If he doesn't like positionals, he probably doesn't like to move.
Which probably means he would be one of those derp tanks that pulls a pack of enemies and then just swings on one until its dead and ignores the others.
Play BLM or SMN if you don't like to move.
The only problem I have with monks positionals (my main) is I tend to tunnel vision a lot into Rear 1 - 2 - 3, Flank 1 - 2 - 3, repeat.
But with that in mind I probably lose more DPS from missing auto attacks then putting up demolish early. (I lock on when there isn't immediate danger, or if its a stringent dps check)
