Thread: 1.0 Path Companion! Please give us answers!

I'm sure they'll throw out a lore excuse but from a gameplay perspective, they got rid of them because they gave us the chocobo buddy and didn't want to rework the path companion. Also because they used gambits for enemies and bosses rather than letting us use it for our companion.

Uh, different Waking Sands - the original that was the HQ of the Path of the Twelve was in Ul'dah (where the Hall of Flames now is), but for some reason that was never explained after the Calamity Minfilia relocated it to Vesper Bay, when the Path was amalgamated with the Circle of Knowing to form the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, which is probably also about the time Minfilia abandoned the policy of assigning partners to Walkers of the Path, hence the loss of the Path Companion.

Also the last that you ever heard from them is at the end of Future's Perfect in 1.0, that Minfilia had sent them to the ALC Guild to get medical assistance for the injuries Gaius inflicted on them. As the Path of the Twelve storyline was abandoned after that in favour of the 7th Umbral Era story when Yoshi took over as producer, it's no wonder our Companions have disappeared.

But I still support this! I want my miqo'te GLA to return! She still owes me that "dose of gratitude" she promised me after all.
