Even if you somehow created your retainer in 1.0 exactly same as with your path companion, they both still regarded as 2 different person.

BTW, it's kinda nice that my thread being revived, but seeing as how 2.55 ending goes, I'm personally getting more and more skeptical if our beloved companion would ever returned, or worse, they might already be part of casualties at Waking Sands back then. ^^;
