Newbie question needs answers

Hello fellow adventurers!

I would like to know if besides your main class (the one I chose when i created my character?) can you practice other jobs like mining and blacksmithing or training as a gladiator etc?

Yes you can level up all the class within 1 Character you just buy the Wep and put it on and you switch to that class.

Wep=Class

you buy the wep from NPC .

That's pretty much it. You want to be a miner? Buy and equip a pickaxe. You want to be a blacksmith? Buy and equip the right hammer. You want to go back to Gladiator? Reequip your sword.

Check ffxiv.yg.com and search for 'weathered' to see all the rank 1 main hand items for each class. You can also see which merchants sell an item if you view the item's page. Note that the item's recipe page does not have this information, so if you don't see a tab for NPCs selling the item, you're probably on the recipe page.
