There are days where all I want to do is level quietly or craft, or queue for random dungeons. You know, those days where you don't really want to be bothered by anyone, but you also don't want to tell anyone to "screw off" because you don't want to be an ass.

I propose an "appear offline" type toggle, where your name will be grayed out people's friends' lists or FC rosters. Or, if that's too difficult, an option to disable people sending you /tells. That way you can hide alone in an inn room or in a big, open area like Coerthas or East Thanalan with the same intent.

Yeah pretty sure it does I think I should add to this though, they probably want to avoid LS and FC as well. (Someone will see that they are busy and use LS or FC chat instead.)

I don't think they should add an "appear offline" option because, /busy works just fine and you can easily ignore others in LS or FC chat.

Yep, the player has the ability to set chat filters too, so if they truly don't want to be bothered they won't let them selves be bothered. Appearing offline to users can potentially disable search functions and make it more difficult for GMs to moderate players as well. Bots already abuse functions like /busy, for example.
