They have already said the expansion will be out in April '15, so I would also start looking end of Feb/March at the earliest.

Well when I hear "spring" in itself I don't really include June as spring since that is the same month that summer starts.
Also, looking at it at a business perspective doing it in May is when most college students have major projects due and they won't have time to buy/play the expansion. April is "Spring Break" at least in the USA. I would imagine Heavensward will release in April 2015.
PS4 FFXIV ARR was launched on April 14th 2014 which is of course when spring break is. If I had to put my money on any launch month in spring, it would be April.
You mean end of may - Kind of like how 2.4 is coming at the end of october.
I just plan on pre-purchasing the digital version, then upgrading to CE a month later. Which is what I did when ARR launched.
I LIKE the fence. I get 2 groups to laugh at then.
For PC only when it came to FFXIV:ARR CE. For the PS3 (and I do believe for PS4 when it came out too) you could pre-order the playstation copies from places like Gamestop or even Amazon, I remember I did my CE ARR PS3 from Amazon.

To the best of my recollection SE never charged more then $30 for an expansion. I suspect that this will be the case for 3.0. Late May sounds about right for release.
I always had a gut feeling it'd be end of Jan or start of Feb (no logical reason, just FELT right to me personally for some reason) so I'm hoping it'll be March sometime. Then again, thinking about when the Moonfire Faire came out this year, they still consider the last few days of the season (was it even still Northerner's Summer then? Or already Autumn? I don't remember now) to be part of the season for release purposes so knowing my luck it'll probably be the last week XD
Edit: As for price, a good figure alone can cost AU$300. The standard version would probably be less than $50 but I'd expect the CE to be around the $150 mark. Also, EB is pretty good at getting in CE packs (at least here in Australia, assuming the game as a whole makes it here). Maybe if your GameStop doesn't have it check out EB.
