What is the current more active server for a new player looking for a large community

I am a recently returned player and on my current server where my old character sits, it seems very dead.

I was wondering what the most active NA server would be for someone who has recently returned and is looking for the most active population so he can actively invest time in end game content later on..

Balmung is always very active, in my experience. Thou not saying much as its the only server Iv ever played on xD

Excalibur and Leviathan are very popular servers. Excalibur is always the first Legacy server to get locked in the Primal Database, and Leviathan usually locks 15 mins after Excalibur.

I moved from Couerl to Balmung and I can say that Balmung is waaay more active. There is a constant RP and non RP community which can make the world seem a bit more alive which is a plus in my book.

The most active servers in the game are Balmung and Excalibur as they both have very small windows when they are open to new characters but they are both legacy servers and Balmung is the unofficial rp servers, something to keep in mind. They are followed by Leviathan and Gilgamesh, these servers are non legacy as they launched with the re release of the game. Hyperion and Sargatanas are active as well but again these are also legacy servers. If you like rp go with Balmung, if you don't mind legacy go with Excalibur, otherwise go with Leviathan or Gilgamesh or you can make an alt on one of these servers to try it out first. You can search FFXIV servers by population. I'm on Lamia after trying several of the other high population servers out. Love it there. Check the link and click on the population to search by highest.

I just moved to Leviathan. It is a very active server, and the thing I love so far, is that it seems to have a great mix of people of all levels. There's a nice balance here, as opposed to two other servers I have been on. One was way too casual and the other was way too hardcore.

I would recommend Leviathan. Everyone seems really friendly here as well.
