The new item "retainer Fantasia" has been added, which allows the one-time alteration of a retainer’s appearance, gender and name.
Phials of retainer Fantasia can be obtained from the following retainer ventures:

Field Exploration XV
Highland Exploration XV
Woodland Exploration XV
Waterside Exploration XV
Quick Exploration (as a rare item)

After using a phial of retainer Fantasia, players should speak with the following retainer vocate NPCs and select "Change a retainer's appearance and nickname."

Frydwyb, Limsa Lominsa Lower Decks (X:8 Y:11)
Parnell, Old Gridania (X:14 Y:9)
Chachabi, Ul’dah – Steps of Thal (X:13 Y:9)

Phials of retainer Fantasia can be freely traded on the market and exchanged with other players.

Since Retainer Fantasia will allow retainers to change name, can we expect the same for player Fantasia in the future too?

They will at some point implement a name change system. This was said yesterday at the London fanfest. No time frame has been given though.

I'm curious as to when they are going to start selling fantasia for your regular chars again. Mid October was like almost two weeks ago lol.

Probably this week in 2.4 since the cash shop is also being added.

Since Fantasia's purchased with real cash, I would hope not. With Retainer Fantasia being an in-game attained item, that's the only thing I'd accept there.

Ahh.. Any idea when that will be? I didn't see any info on that from all the key notes i've read. I was just curious after the post they made about changing it from buy for all characters on your acct to just single.

Well Camate said awhile back in the original Fantasia purchase thread they were working on a way to implement name change. And apparently in the London Fanfest, they reiterated that name changes were indeed on the way.
