That's a way of looking at things I hadn't considered. I guess to me, a beastman is defined as a sentient species whose physical traits more resemble animals than hyur.
But then, who knows what those goblins look like under their masks!
A true paladin... will sheathe his sword.
You only have to see Miqo'te to see that half beast half human is a little wrong to describe beast tribes, even more if Yugiri is indeed an half dragon or lizard race. And you don't have to looks like a beast to be called a beast or a monster.
post limit so :
EDIT FOR BELOW :
Because Yugiri's race isn't known by the city-states, so it's neither a beast tribe nor a human race. And there is a huge difference between accepted and being part of a city, a little like living someplace but not having the nationality, not being considered as a citizen of this place.I don't see any representative of Yugiri's race living around Limsa, Ul'dah or Gridania, except Yugiri herself (who's a refugee).
There's also moogles in every cities.
And the reason the Amal'jaa got kicked out is mostly because when the whole Empire/Primal summoning started, it started to get a little... tense between them and the other. Before that, they were accepted just like Goblins and Qiqirns.
What I mean to say in the end is, the difference between a beasttribe and one of the 5 races isn't simply "they are accepted in city-states".

If I may be so bold, Miqo'tes are hardly half beastI'd say even ten percent would be pushing things. I would also argue that the word beastman is meant to be taken literally, not figuratively.

Of course I really don't think it's going to be the "viangaa" they showed as a prank for both April Fool's and the Las Vegas fan fest, but I'm not ruling out the possibility of them still mixing the two. The bangaa and vierra both had long ears that Yugiri has, she has a bangaa-like tail with what looked like scales to me. The rest of the body structure, however, seemed to be much more upright like a vierra or one of the other 5 races. I can also just see a bunny-like face under that mask, dunno why it just seems to fit aside from the ears. The males, in this case, will probably share more bangaa features. Whatever the case, I'm still very excited. Gonna hang onto a fantasia just for that. If I don't like it then I guess I have an extra fantasia :P
