    This.

Macros are for the weak anyhow.

Back in my day, we didn't have macros fighting our fights while we walked uphill both ways in the snow while still gaming. And we liked it.

This maybe trolly but it does bring up a point in that a lot of the playerbase look down on macros even if used effectively.

I just find it funny that in XI it was pretty much the opposite, if you weren't macro'ing you were generally way behind on dps.

I do intend to macro ninjutsu, but using change cross hotbar to be sure I don't accidently hit the wrong skill, or fail to use the correct skill in a panic situation, should it ever arise.

It also means my jutsu abilities only take up 2 slots on my cross hotbar as opposed to 4, so I can get more of my rotational abilities in a spot I can access quickly.

People look down on macros in this game because it removes the ability to queue up your skills, leading to longer delays between each skill, which is a DPS loss.

Using macros for some things (like notifications on debuffs) is fine. Using macros in an attempt to auto-pilot your way through the game is not.

yeah that's why I said if used effectively.

Wait commands on abilities just don't work, putting Thunder 1, 2 and 3 under one macro, so it pops the one you have the mp to use works. Putting Fists of earth/fire onto one button to quickly switch between the two works. Macro'ing every dps abillity on sch to <tt> is the safest way to throw in that dps and still have the tank as your main target.

Infact 1 thing I quite enjoy in this game (don't ask me why) is finding ways to create clevers macros to effectively use my class while at the same time catering to the limited controller hot bar space.

Even that is still a dps loss, although a very small one since it's only one macro in your rotation rather than everything being a macro. I'd either stick to T1 or T2 (there's not much difference dps wise in which you use) or learn the MP amounts that enable you to cast either.
