Gun Blue Mage?

I just read this on Kotaku regarding the still-unconfirmed "gun class":

"Yoshida ended the event's keynote with a tease for the next new job, to be announced December 20 at the Japanese fan event in Tokyo. He removed his Batman (Dark Knight) t-shirt to reveal a 007 gun logo, making shooting motions with his fingers. I'm going to completely ignore that last bit and say it's Blue Mage."

I don't know if this guy is just taking a guess based on what he wants, or if it was heavily implied at today's announcement, but I thought that Yoshi-P strongly hinted in a recent Q&A session that Blue Mage was not planned for this game any time soon because he felt it didn't fit in with the game's setting.

Of course this wouldn't be the first time a developer has told a white lie to protect an expansion in the works...but if Blue Mage is indeed planned, I personally hope it doesn't branch off from Musketeer - because the last thing I think about when it comes to the Blue Mage Job is being Admiral Merlweb's right-hand gunman. Talk about a worst possible combination…the Blue Bullets made sense in X-2 with all the dress spheres and the way Yuna was exploring her wild side, but I just don't like the idea of it being a shout out to X-2 in this game.

Typically Blue Mages are more of a melee-mage class because some of the abilities they learn from monsters are physical strikes. I think it would make sense as a class that doesn't require a prerequisite (like the confirmed Dark Knight), or maybe a second Job branching off from Rogue, but I think Corsair or Chemist (healer) would fit the gun weapon FAR better.

In any case, both Dark Knight and Ninja are Disciples of War, and it's 99.9% certain the gun class will be as well - personally, as much as I like DRK, I think a Disciple of Magic class would have made a LOT more sense - preferably Red Mage or Geomancer. We still don't know for sure if the gun class will be the rumored new healer class...
