You're all crazy if you think we're ever going to get musketeer.
After four years of waiting, and 3.0's 2015 release making it five years, I truly believe musketeer has been scrapped.
The dream is over people.
I want a dps gunner. a Healing gunner makes no sense...
"Oh! You're hurt! Here, let me shoot you in the face to make it better."
What part of that makes any sense?
No more cast bars for Bard! Thank you, Yoshi-P! All hail our lord and savior!
Agent can use gadgets to heal people... and guns to shoot things... Just saying if we have flying airships unlimited magic all over the world. to think someone cant use some sort of gadget as a healing device. It depends... For all we know we're getting Musketeer as a class and it'll seperate much like Arcanist does for Summoner and Scholar.
Just because DRK starts off as a job doesn't mean the gun class will.
FFT Chemist...
FFX-2 Alchemist...
FFTA2 Cannoneer...
and FFTA2 Flintlock...
...all say hi!
Those jobs are probably kept to one (spin-off) game for a reason. To me, they seem a bit ridiculous. Chemist/Alchemist would be the only one I think could work. Aside from chemist, none of those seem like main healing material anyway.
If it's a Healer, I would absolutely LOVE to be an Agent based off of prior title Artwork.
I envision (and hope) it to be extremely skill-based... practically challenging to heal with compared to SCH/WHM.
Imagine virtually no large AoE healing but quick-action spot healing & small-radius, low throughput heals.
Like "aimed heals" (sustained line-shot heal, etc.) & heals that ricochet to the nearest, most-wounded target.
Perhaps "focused healing" like applying a stacking 'healing-received' buff on-target, starts off weak but ramps up... capable of falling-off like Greased Lightning making you a really interesting spot-healer for raids.

I agree, I think it could work. I've always thought that if it were Alchemist/Chemist, it would be a little similar to Shaman's in WoW. Shaman's in WoW use a spell called "Chain heal" which heals your selected target, then bounces off to the most injured player nearby. I could see this somehow working with bullets. Just my two cents.
Toodles I like how you're more looking at the upsides and possible "what ifs" rather than be like the rest of the overreacting forum kiddies who are crying because it doesn't fit into something from an entirely different game.
Edit: So long as Red Mage is a RED MAGE and not a PINK MAGE(healer only) and can be a true hybrid or fill a similar role to BRD I'll be happy and they can do whatever they want with the other jobs. Please don't ruin one of SE's only true hybrids(and battlemages) because u need a healer![]()
