People have waited so many years, most presuming we'd get an awesome DPS gunslinger.

If you only give us a Healeteer, people are gonna rage.

If Yoshi-P decides to take a shower, people rage.
People assuming is always a bad thing:

"I assumed they were going to stop." (After a wreck.)
"I thought you were grabbing the adds." (after a wipe)
"I though DRK was going to be a dps." (announced as a tank)

Ranged Physical DPS are usually OP if that's all they do, it would be like "why melee?" . Hince why bard was nerfed, and ballad/paeon makes them do less dmg. For this reason, the gun class will not be a pure dps.

I swear, everyone here forgot about the gun toting, can fully heal you from almost anywhere on the map powerhouse that was the Chemist.

And yet healers that use guns have happened before in the FF series.

Who knows what will happen, but you'd probably be better off not setting yourself up to be disappointed.

Most FFTA jobs are too much of a deviation of normal FF jobs and have mostly stayed restricted to FFTA too.

To be fair there haven't been that many FF's released after FFTA2 have there? Only 2 of the actual numbered series, xiii and xiv.

Yes! I would be quite alright with a Chemist. Shooting guns and chucking potions in peoples faces!

I really don't believe they want two "Chemist" archetypes in game (Alchemist & Chemist). Just doesn't make any sense to me.

How many healing jobs are there on FFs? Chemist has to happen. Healing jobs on FFs are very scarce and if they add something like Sage it might be too similiar to White Mage/Scholar. Chemist is different enough to be the next healing job before they have to come up with a new magical class that does the same thing the other healers do. But I agree that the Alchemist vs Chemist thing might be confusing. Perhaps a different name, anyone knows how Chemist is called in japanese?
