Returning player here, how is DRG after a year? And whats up with this ninja class??

I left about a year ago, leveled DRG up to 50, had a good times at end game, but ended up unsubbing because personal life got busy..

Ive heard a lot of good things and it seems that ffxiv has maintained a good player base and has been quite successful. It also seems like a lot has improved.

So I just resubbed and am currently downloading the game.

My question is, how is DRG doing in the PvE world. Are groups/raids/guilds desiring them for any type of role other than generic dmg dealer??

Also looking at creating a new char, was looking into Ninja but havent seen much information about the class. Has it been released yet? If so, what is the experience like. Was leaning either towards MNK or Ninja... Any advice?? Which dps job seems to be kicking ass on the dmg meters??

Every job kicks ass in the dps area, if handled by the correct player.

But to answer some of your questions.. 1. Drg still is needed in raid groups (not sure about the generic dmg dealer.. thats our role to do damage). 2. Ninja is out on Tuesday.

Dragoon is fine atm. There aren't any real big glaring issues with it, though it is receiving some quality of life buffs like shorter animation locks and some cool down reductions. You'll be able to jump more often(which translates to more damage) and react quicker after completing a jump so you aren't caught off-guard. Other than that though, Dragoon is doing okay. There's no big reason to refuse one especially since it brings a damage buff to bards. All DPS classes are good, and it's the player that makes them shine. Welcome back btw =)

You will like the changes to the DRG job. Competitively high DPS, got some good buffs to potency in 2.1(maybe 2.2? i forget). Welcome back!

people forgetting to mention drg getting more love 2.4. jump lock is getting shorting again, and cool down on spine and dragonfire jump are getting shortened.
