As DRK has just been announced as the first job without a base class, I only wanted to say good bye again to Tanaka, as his work, ideas and vision that originally created the world of Haydelyin that we love and enjoy are getting further and further, instead of being improved and worked on as they should be.

Farewell Hiromichi Tanaka, I look forward to your next AAA game, let's hope next time you have enough resources to carry your vision fully!

You have a pretty warped view of things. Tanaka was to blame for the worst features in 11 and 14. Tanaka specifically was the reason the repair and market systems were awful, moghouses didn't exist, maps like shroud were awful, etc etc.

No one is ever going to let him work in a major way on a game again, maybe a battle system if he's lucky. Aside from that, the massive grilling he recieved at SE had him excuse himself for health reasons. Likely caused from the stress of a board screaming at him weekly about him ruining their intended 10 year nest egg (FF14).


The only reason he was trusted with it was because FFXI provided SE with a massive amount of passive income they could count on, regardless to the idea of titles like FF13 selling well or not. The entire reason Yoshi was brought in and 14 re launched as ARR was to save what they believed to be an /all important/ investment. And now, its paying for everything.

Oh no! His vision of Walking Simulator XIV has been destroyed!
Tanking EVERYTHING as a thm in 1.0 was so much better than what we have now, the class system was perfect!
Restricting the new jobs by forcing them to have half of another job's skills was such a great idea!

Bring back Stamina and Fatigue system!!!!!!!

I've loved Tanaka and his ideas and designs ever since I played FFIII for the NES, he is the one that created the job system as we know it for Final fantasy games and one of the four main developers to create this franchise we all like so much along with Sakaguchi, Uematsu and Ito.

Even if XIV was incomplete at launch, I think any FF fan should always respect him.

And I'll always miss him on every square game, same as I miss Sakaguchi and Matsuno.

Stop being delusional hater. Bring the real facts, otherwise put your casual rambling elsewhere.

What I've said is completely accurate, he was also the instigator of Pandemonium Warden and Absolute Virtue. How much deeper do you want to dig the grave about how bad he messes everything up?

I loved FFXI but I have always been completely aware of Tanaka, his style, and the way he tried to make games "his way". That is precisely why players were banned for beating Absolute Virtue any way but his. Its why Pandemonium warden made mainstream news after people spent over a day fighting it, its why everything was broken in 1.0 at launch, and I do NOT mean things like collisions or models.

People were screeching about all the things that made 1.0 fail even from its inception, and the official response to it was a notice telling people it was their job to test, not make comments on the direction of the game.

Tanaka listened to NO ONE, and its why he was unable to adjust and solve his mistakes.
