EU Game Time Cards in Japan

Hi, I currently live in Japan but my FFXIV Account is the EU Version.

Given that game time cards are region locked, I was wondering if anyone have any idea where i can buy a physical EU game time card in Japan.

This is also given that i can't buy the online version as well as can't use my credit card.

I would appreciate any information that I can get.

You should be able to buy the digital download code from the EU SE store and use it in Japan.

I tried. But it said i can't because i'm currently outside the eu region and won't accept my credit card payment. So... Yeah.

never stopped to think that OP could have a card from EU or America and constantly gets 401 or 601?

you should be able to go onto a different site like amazon and buy specific time cards, tho i am not sure if they have EU ones. they also do digital time cards so you get the code as soon as you pay for the card.

You possibly could get a friend from back home to buy you a batch and ship out them to you. At least then you won't be hit by some stupid mark up for someone else to do essentially the exact same thing.

If you can still use Paypal you can try GAME, they sell gamecards where they just email you the key and you can pay with Paypal.

This is so frustrating. I mistakenly bought a NA game time card from amazon. Why does it have to be region locked. I really don't understand. Could anyone enlighten me on the matter.

It is region locked for tax purposes, you can have different taxes in different regions of the world and SE has to provide reports to the government.

I get the feeling it mostly has to do with currency exchange rates, so people don't buy digital codes from one country where it's cheaper to pay for them in another.
